About Us

What We Believe . . .

  • All people are children of God.

  • God is for us, not against us.

  • In Jesus Christ, God's own Son, whose example of radical love we seek to follow.

  • In the Bible as the Foundation for understanding God's love, grace, and eternal promises.

  • In forgiveness.

  • In the power of prayer.

  • In feeding the hungry, welcoming the stranger, housing the homeless, mending the broken, and caring for the earth.

  • Our intellect is a great gift from God; we are curious and honest in our discoveries of faith.

  • Every life is a mix of joy and sorrow and we need our family of faith to celebrate and abide with us through those times.

  • Faith is a journey and we are accepted wherever we are.

She was the pastor at Evangelical UMC in Billings for seven years and moved to Bigfork to serve CUMC in July, 2021.  Wendy and husband Chris have four sons: James, who attends college and plays football at Montana Western, Abe who is in high school, Alex who attends middle school, and preschooler Otis. Ruth Gilder

Handbell Choir Director

Ruth Guldner has been directing the handbell choir at CUMC since 2018, when the first piece played was "Holy, Holy, Holy," and the name Kings Ringers was adopted.

Ruth, a retired RN of 36 years, has been involved in music her whole life, leading and accompanying numerous choral and instrumental groups, including a 12 member handbell choir in Pennsylvania before coming to Montana.

Under her leadership, the King's Ringers rehearse weekly and provide special music monthly here at CUMC. The group has also performed at our local nursing home. The handbell choir continues to make amazing progress, not only ringing for the Lord, but bonding as a close-knit group, sharing joys, tears, prayer, and lots of laughter!

Praise God in his Temple;
   praise him in his mighty heaven.
Praise him for his strength;
   praise him for his greatness.
Praise him with trumpet blasts;
   praise him with harps and lyres.
Praise him with tambourines and
     dancing;
Praise him with stringed i
     nstruments and flutes.
Praise him with loud cymbals;
   praise him with crashing cymbals.
Let everything that breathes praise
    the Lord.
